Main Character Biographies

Ichigo Kurosaki

Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old student, with the ability to see ghosts. His life was forever changed when he met Kuchiki Rukia, a Death God, who is charged with sending lost souls to the afterlife, known as Soul Society. Whilst saving Ichigo from the attack of a malevolent ghost known as a Hollow, Rukia sustained serious injuries. Unable to finish the battle, she offers to share her powers, and responsibilities, with Ichigo.

Kurosaki Isshin

The father of the Kurosaki family, he is a widower, who is the neighborhood doctor, and the only one in their family who can't see ghosts at all. He is very overprotective of Ichigo (As he makes him come in every night by 7:00 pm) and is very strict on the rules. He uses physical violence to tend to matters that he is not very good at talking about, and wishes his son would communicate more with him.

Kurosaki Karin

Ichigo's little sister who, although she can see ghosts (in a blurred way), claims she doesnt believe in them - but if the opprotunity presents itself, she will try to make money off of her ability.

Kurosaki Masaki

This is Ichigo's mother who died 6 years ago. She was the most wonderful beautiful woman Ichigo has ever seen and he loved her very much. She died trying to protect him from getting killed - thus proving her love for him. She is near to the hearts of the whole Kurosaki family, and they visit her grave on the day she died every year in her memory.

Kurosaki Yuzu

Ichigo's other younger sister who looks up to him and envies that he can see ghosts so well. She wants to some day be able to see ghosts as well as he can. She feels like its her responsibility to help maintain the family since their mother died.

Rukia Kuchiki
Rukia Kuchiki is a cool-tempered shinigami who was sent on a hollow extermination patrol in Ichigo's hometown. Though her physical appearance is that of a teenage girl, in reality she is around 150 years old. Rukia is forced to transfer her power to Ichigo and assume a temporary lifestyle as a regular human. She registers at the local high school and takes up residence in Ichigo's closet, while teaching him how to be a substitute shinigami in her place.


Orihime Inoue
Orihime Inoue is a long-time classmate of Ichigo, closely linked to him by mutual friend Tatsuki Arisawa. She is effectively an orphan, as she and her elder brother Sora ran away from their abusive home at a young age, and her brother later died. Though initially devoid of spiritual powers, she begins to develop spiritual awareness and later obtains one of the most powerful healing abilities in the Bleach universe, able to completely restore a body to its previous state regardless of how severely it is wounded.

Yasutora "Chad" Sado
Yasutora Sado, better known as Chad, is one of Ichigo's few friends at school. He is a biracial (Japanese/Mexican) student who towers over his classmates. Despite his imposing appearance he is quite meek, and refuses to fight unless it is for the sake of another. He does not have awareness of ghosts at first, but this changes when he witnesses a group of children being attacked by a hollow. He discovers a unique ability that strengthens and armors one of his arms, enabling him to fight hollows. He later develops the ability to shoot energy from his armored arm. A strong and loyal fighter, Sado Yasutora joins the fight to save Kuchiki Rukia from Senzaikyuu merely because Ichigo was willing to die for this woman. A lot can be said by his silence and even more by his actions. He is quick with his fists if it means saving a life and believes that he cannot lose if his cause is just. He fight for Ichigo and Ichigo fights for him. If they make it out of Soul Society alive, Sado will no doubt rub his grandfather's memento between his fingers on the riverbank that he enjoys so peacefully.

Kisuke Urahara
A mysterious and cheery man characterized by his hat that shadows his eyes and the geta (wooden sandals) he wears, Kisuke Urahara runs the Urahara Shop, a candy store that also sells supernatural items to shinigami. Despite his sanguine nature he is one of the most significant figures in the Bleach universe, bearing immense knowledge of the spiritual realms which he uses to mastermind the operations of the protagonists.



Uryū Ishida
Though on the surface nothing more than the solitary class genius, Uryū Ishida is actually a Quincy, descendant of a line of priest-like hollow-hunting archers. He bears a deep grudge against all shinigami, including Ichigo, but comes to view Ichigo differently over time, eventually becoming an ally and friendly rival.



Renji Abarai
Renji Abarai is an elite shinigami bearing the rank of 6th Division lieutenant, making him second in command of a sub-branch of the shinigami armed forces. Although first introduced as a deadly enemy, he has conflicting loyalties between his duties and Rukia, with whom he grew up. A rash and driven man, he holds both a deep respect and animosity towards his immediate superior, 6th Division captain Byakuya Kuchiki.



Arisawa Tatsuki

This is ichigo's class mate and Orihime's best friend. Her and Ichigo grew up together, meeting in a karate class when they were 4. She is very strong for a girl and over protective of Orihime. She does not like the normal things girls seem to like such as makeup and boys but is a tomboy who is rough on the edges.




Chizuru

An all out lesbian, Chizuru makes fruitul attempts on Orihime and ends up being beat up by Tatsuki. Adding the touch of humor that makes Bleach popular, she is a minor character






Kon
Kon is a modified soul that was created by soul society to fight hollows. In creating him, they gave him more strength than they would normally, so when he is free he can do amazing things. By mistake on the Uraha shop, he is inserted into Ichigo's body while Ichigo takes his Shinigami form. During this period he explores the human world, by impressing people and showing off his ability. Once it is realize what has happend, he is tracked down and removed from Ichigo's body and paced in the body of a teddy bear. After this he began to idolize Rukia and he sometimes fills in for Ichigo when Ichigo must leave his body to fulfill his Shinigami duties.

Zaraki kenpachi
Zaraki Kenpachi is one of the most interesting captains in the Gotei 13, leading the 11th division. With spiked hair with bells at the end and an eye patch, one may not take him seriously at first. However, he is one of the mightiest and most feared captains in Seireitei. With his incredibly powerful fighting techniques, he heads the 11th division with a lust for fighting. In attaining his rank of captain, he accomplished the unprecedented—he attained this rank without even knowing the name of his Zanpakutou. By depending solely on his brute strength, he defeated and killed the previous 11th division commander without relying on his Zanpakutou for any strength, completing all of this in front of the rest of the Gotei 13. By defeating him in battle, Zaraki Kenpachi was entitled to the 11th division captainship.
